Ruth was a long-standing and enthusiastic member of the Wanstead WEA/ Literature Group - even when she was unwell, she made a determined effort to attend and was always very cheerful in spite of her later difficulties.. She obviously loved books, as well as films, theatre and music, and had an incisive and lively mind - when Ruth spoke everyone really listened. Her tastes were wide and included Paul Auster and Paul Simon. She was a great member of the class and will be very badly missed.
